Best egg rolls. I still think the food was better qith thw old owners. Also new owners went up on prices on all the food..a little on the high side.
The food is if anything a bit better than the other location. Less greasy, all the dishes and appetizers tasted great. We pre-ordered online our food was ready on time. The Grand was always the best Chinese food in town. The New Grand is highly recommended
Love the egg roll and Filipino BBQ skewer. The Filipino noodles is awesome as well. I like that the price is reasonable with free drink. Very clean place and friendly owner. Our go to restaurant for quick Pinoy food cravings.
It replaced my favor Chinese place, so maybe this review will be unfair. The wonton soup wasn't as good as Red Sun, which had big, meaty wontons. The beef with broccoli sauce was watery and didn't taste very good. The broccoli need to be cut so that it's smaller, with just florets. They included large pieces you can't eat in just one bit. which are largely stem. Everything fried was overdone. The fried wontons were especially bad, lacking filling and overfried. The highlight was the pork bits, which were REALLY good, but everything else was so blah I couldn't get past it. Maybe other dishes would be better, or maybe coming in late didn't help. So still looking for a new Chinese place in town.
This place is a disgrace to the name Grand Cafe. Ordered a #2 lunch special (chicken chop suey, roast pork egg foo young) plus one egg roll and the counter person went to a buffet table and retrieved these items for me. All of them served at room temperature, on a styrofoam plate, with the cheapest plastic cutlery possible. AND at roughly a 20% increase in price over what the same items used to cost at the restaurant on Main, where they were freshly prepared and delivered piping hot to your table on real plates with metal flatware and complimentary hot tea. Further insult is the house hot mustard was so diluted it was barely thicker than plain water, with virtually no taste of mustard or level of heat. Have eaten well over a thousand meals from the Grand Cafe since 1974, and the steady decline in quality has hit rock bottom. Never again. Thanks for the memories, and hopefully not the food poisoning.
