I would highly advise anyone thinking about spending money with Zales to think twice about it.
My son wore his necklace 3 months and Jesus fell off the cross and he is not able to find it. The rude woman working told me she can't help me in the store because we didn't buy a protection plan - NO ONE EVER OFFERED IT TO ME & why should I need a protection plan for a crucifix that cost me over $300?
What did she not understand about MY SON IS HOME ON LEAVE AND DOESNT LIVE HERE?
She was unwilling to try to find us a cost estimate and told me because I didn't pay for a protection plan with them she can't do anything else for me.
I bought a bracelet here 15 years ago and was incredibly disappointed with the quality & even more frustrated with the poor attitudes in the store! I had the bracelet 2 months before it busted - I had the same problem with it 4 times and they refused to fix it anymore (said it was my fault every time) and now I have a beautiful piece of junk that sits in a drawer.
I went in there regarding an issue I had with a mother's ring I had purchased online (2 stones that were supposed to be the same looked very different). I expected to get a hard time sine I had purchased online, and it was outside of the 60 day return window (although I did have the protection plan).
At Christmas I wanted a solid gold and silver crucifix for my son in the Marine Corps. I searched for months for the right one and decided to give Zales another chance.
I claim BS!!!!
This company has a lot of claims filed against it for poor business practices and I had hoped their integrity would be better by now but evidently they are thief's who refuse to stand bylehind anything they sell.
If I could give them a HALF a star I would. We ordered his wedding band online and it took over 3 weeks to arrive when the status kept saying "in stock." When we checked the order status, it never updated for us. If that's not bad enough, when we finally received the item, there were 3 (not 1, not 2 but 3) huge dents in the white gold ring. I called their corporate office and they reassured me that we can return it to a local Zales store. We received the ring in the mail yesterday and immediately tried to return it at the mall store. They then told us a bunch of excuses on how we did not have the proper paperwork and gave us the run around. She was very rude and very unprofessional. Her behavior continued until I asked for her business card; sensing I was probably going to call corporate about her attitude, she finally apologized. So today, we got all the proper paper work in and they STILL would not return or even exchange the ring because they claimed that the store couldn't take this ring style. When their return policy clearly states that they allow in store returns. I will NEVER do business with Zales ever again and if you're smart, you would stay far FAR away as well!
The main gentleman there (seemed to be the manager) quickly understood my concern, and took care of me, and quickly filled out the paperwork to send it back to have the stone replaced. I was very pleased on how they treated me, even though I wasn't going in to that store to buy anything.
The rude girl's solution was to take the necklace and "send it in" to see what they would charge me to replace Jesus on the cross.
It should have been really sturdy.
