My overall experience was good. The return procedure was a bit unclear at the airport, but we figured it out. The time waiting at the counter was long both at pick-up and return, but other than those two small issues, I was happy with my experience. I really liked the car and it was in great condition. That was a big plus for me.
This is the worst service I've ever had. We came in around 11:30 pm and tried to rent 2 cars home they told us it would be over $400 for one night. The previous week we rented a 15 passenger van for $600 for the entire week. That is outrageous. Then we went online and got a vehicle for hundreds of dollars cheaper. The employee then rudely told us we would have to wait an hour to get our car. An hour later we went to recieve our first car and they told us we would have to wait another hour for our second car. The lady at the register was completely rude and inconsiderate to our family. Let me remind you it was around 1 in the morning well this was all happening and we had 5 kids with us.
My husband had reserved a Chevy Tahoe well over a month ago for a 3 week road trip and when he went to pick it up yesterday he was told there would be no full size SUV available as "corporate" took all the cars for the Farm Show in Decatur. They substituted a Suburban that will burn more fuel and cause us all sorts of parking problems in various cities. And the substitution was made only because someone returned it that day and my hubby made 4 trips to the airport to try to retrieve a usable vehicle. There was even a sign at the rental counter saying they wouldn't honor any reservations made in the previous 24 hours....WHAT THE HECK?? How can a company do business like that? Their new slogan should be AT AVIS WE DON'T REALLY WANT YOUR BUSINESS! We'll be moving on to a reliable company on our next rental. RENTERS BEWARE. YOU CAN NOT COUNT ON AVIS.
Easy pick up and drop. Got a clean and new (mileage was 4k miles) minivan. Able to change the gas option with phone call. overall a very good experience.
Avoid this place at all costs. Margina the little worker woman is rude and charged my card too much but its being disputed. Horrible customer service. Because of her I will no longer use Avis in any city i travel too. This old woman needs to be fired and put out to pasture. Considering other charges for the lies and overcharge on the car. Not to mention not having large SUV as reserved. Horrible person made this a bad experience.
