People in BloNo must be pretty spoiled if they don't like this office. I've dealt with DMV-type offices in 5 states, from small towns to large cities. They are the most efficient, friendliest, and most helpful I've ever dealt with. Honestly, I'd like to just give them a 3 because they do their jobs, but someone needs to boost their ratings to offset the people who blame their personal problems like suspended licenses on the folks that are just the bearers of bad news.
I called with a very simple question ---- whether the owner of a vehicle has to be present if you are renewing a plate without the card from the state. He refused to just say yes or no. Just kept repeatedly sayin you need an ID and the plate number. Over and over and over. I was trying very hard to be courteous and politte but he just wouldn't give a straight answer. Additionally, the tone of his voice was so angry and rude. I have never bought into DMV bashing but this was unbelievable. If he hates his job and the people of Illinois so much, he should quit! Be prepared if you call to be verbally abused for asking a question. Bloomington, Illinois DMV on Market Street.
I went in to do a registration and plates - switching from California to Illinois and was having issues with some of the info Illinois requires that Cali doesn't issue!!! Anita was WONDERFUL!!!! She told me how to get enough info to get the plates and work around what I didn't have and was beyond friendly!!! Everyone else there who helped her and interacted with me was perfectly pleasant! Some of the other reviews on here do not accurately describe this place.
Just a bad experience every time I walk in this place. If you can do it online, save yourself the hassle and the aggravation.
Called about my permit and how to get a new one. And the lady was very nice and respectful and answered all my questions. I dont see why everyone doesn't give good reviews.
